People's Postcode Lottery

Dr Richard Dixon

To all of the players of the People’s Postcode Lottery

Dr Richard Dixon - Director, WWF Scotland
I would like to thank you for the wonderful donation of £86,218 raised from the recent People’s Postcode Lottery draw. WWF Scotland was delighted to be selected to recieve this donation, which has provided invaluable funds to assist us in our work protecting the natural world.

Climate change, threats to natural resources and rising energy use are just some of the issues that are of growing global concern, impacting on people and wildlife right round the world. WWF Scotland works on these issues from a Scottish perspective by influencing policy, providing solutions and gaining public support and involvement.

We are extremely grateful to be an ongoing beneficiary of the People’s Postcode Lottery. Money raised by players will allow us to continue to fund our vital work in protecting the natural world now and for future generations. Thank you to everyone who plays and to everyone at the Postcode Lottery for providing this amazing support, it really makes a huge difference to the work we can carry out.

In support of the partnership, Meteorologist Heather Reid said:

"I am really excited about the partnership between WWF and the People's Postcode Lottery.  Having worked with WWF recently I know how committed its staff are to working towards a future where humans and nature can thrive together.  The funding provided by this partnership will contribute greatly to reaching that goal."

“The Postcode Lottery is an inspired idea - an adventure with winners but no losers. "You could hit the regular £10,000 jackpot or enrich yourself and your neighbours to the tune of £1million in one of the Magical Millions Street Parties. But in any case you’ll be doing something good for a wonderful cause". I am privileged to be an ambassador for WWF, the world’s leading conservation body which is one of the key beneficiaries of the Postcode Lottery. And I suspect that never in human history has there been a more important moment to cherish wildlife and natural diversity.

WWF’s passion is to safeguard the natural world by protecting species at risk, by tackling climate change and helping people to change the way they live to ease pressure on natural resources.

The Postcode Lottery is both fun and a marvellous way to gather funds for this crucial global conservation work, and on behalf of WWF I’m delighted to endorse it.” - Nick Ross
