Run for WWF

Why not get your running shoes on, get fit and run for WWF? We are looking for runners to fill our places in the 2012 Edinburgh Marathon in May the Loch Ness marathon in September and other running events throughout the year.

WWF has charity assured places in all the events listed below


Edinburgh Festival of Running

This event has got bigger and bigger. There are now 11 categories you can enter in over the two days. We have guaranteed places at all of them so do please take a look at the Edinburgh Marathon website to find an event that suits you.

Edinburgh Marathon
The Edinburgh Marathon was rated the fastest marathon in the UK by Runners World magazine. The course has an overall elevation drop of nearly 40m which should make it a good course for those looking for a good time or a personal best.

Minimum Sponsorship Required: £500

Edinburgh Half Marathon
The EMF Half will use most of the same route as the marathon

Minimum Sponsorship Required: £400

Hairy Haggis Relay Race
The 26.2miles will be split between 4 runners. The longest leg will be approximately 8 miles and the shortest leg will be approximately 5 miles. As you enter you can choose between seven different categories.

Minimum Sponsorship Required: £800 per team

There are also 5Ks, 10ks and junior races on the 26 May 2012.

How to Enter
For the Edinburgh marathon, half marathon, Hairy Haggis relay race please go to the marathon website  to enter. They will send me an email confirming your interest. Once you have agreed you would like to run for WWF I will confirm your place.


Loch Ness Marathon

WWF Scotland have  purchased charity assured places for the Loch Ness Marathon in 2012.

We would like to invite you to join the WWF runners team at the start line. You will run through some truly wonderful scenery, along the south-eastern shores of Loch Ness, across the River Ness, and into the centre of Inverness, capital city of the Highlands. It’s your chance to become part of the Loch Ness running legend and help raise funds for the work of WWF.

Minimum sponsorship required is £500

How to Enter

  • Go to the Loch Ness marathon website and select the ENTER NOW button on the home page
  • Select 1 Charity Place in the Loch Ness Marathon 2012 (5th option)
  • Scroll down and continue
  • Select your charity from the drop down list (provided above)
  • Enter the official charity code - WWF
  • Complete all details, selecting New User
  • You will be taken to a confirmation page to let you know your entry has been successful. You will also receive a confirmation email.
  • Your confirmation email will include login details to allow you log back in and make any updates.


5K Fun Runs 2012

We have guaranteed places in all 5K Fun Runs across the UK

5K Big Fun Runs

These will be taking place across the UK starting in July and finishing in October 2012

Entry Fees:
Adult:
Early Bird - £8.99
Standard - £9.99

Over 65  and 5 - 15 year olds
Early Bird - £5.99
Standard - £7.99

Minimum Sponsorship Required: £50
To register go to the 5K Fun Run website, choose your location, select the fundraising tab at the top of the page and nominate WWF as your charity. It's that easy!


Gold Challenge

The Gold Challenge

The Gold Challenge is a new and exciting event where you can try 5, 10, 20 or 30 Olympic or Paralympic sports at hundreds of participating centres across the UK in your own time from now until December 2012.
