Laura Hutton
Laura graduated from Aberdeen University in 1997 with a degree in Law and French.
After spending a year working as a visitor guide on the Royal Yacht Britannia, she accepted a job at PricewaterhouseCoopers, a “big four” accountancy firm, in the Human Resource Services practice. Laura qualified as a Chartered Tax Adviser in 2002, and now works as a tax manager advising clients on employment tax related issues, specialising in internationally mobile employees.
Laura is an active member of her office’s Climate Change and Sustainability group, which is working to introduce greener ways of working, including increasing the rate of recycling, promoting video-conferencing, and encouraging energy conservation. In this role, she has helped to organise events in the office to raise awareness of environmental issues, including screening films and holding “green” quizzes.
Laura became involved with WWF as a volunteer in 2005, initially delivering presentations to community groups ranging from eco-congregations to Probus clubs to horticultural societies. More recently, she has assisted with campaign activities in support of the Scottish Climate Change bill.
Laura is married with no children, and lives in East Lothian. In her spare time, she enjoys reading and learning languages.
