Learning for Sustainability in Schools – Effective Pedagogy

The purpose of this research is to identify the key pedagogical approaches used in primary and secondary schools to effectively support learning for sustainability.

Nineteen key pedagogical approaches were identified. In addition to supporting effective learning for sustainability, these approaches raise attainment, increase pupils’ enjoyment and motivation, and promote pro-environmental behaviour and well-being.
