Education Resources

WWF Scotland works to provide education resources especially designed to support Scottish schools and the Curriculum for Excellence.

We also work in partnership with our colleagues at WWF-UK to maintain dedicated educators’ web pages, where you can access general WWF education resources, case studies and toolkits for schools. Please visit these web pages for assembly ideas, musicals with sustainability and citizenship themes, information packs and more.

Learning Teaching Scotland

Schools Global Footprint calculator

This resource gives schools the opportunity to calculate their impact on our planet and learn about how this affects our environment and other people.

Scotlands Global Footprint

Schools Global Footprint - teachers materials

The materials support Education for Citizenship, Sustainable Development Education, the Eco Schools program and several curriculum areas including sciences, social studies, mathematics, health and wellbeing, languages, technologies, expressive arts and religious and moral education.

The Schools Global Footprint calculator and the supporting teachers pack are available through the Learning and Teaching Scotland website.

Teachers in Scottish schools can access a training service, delivered through the Local Footprints Project, which supports them to use the Schools' Global Footprint resource. Working closely with Eco Schools Scotland, the training service will help schools to measure and reduce their footprint.

To find out how schools are using the Global Footprint resource see the case studies below:
