Scottish SDE Action Plan
WWF Scotland has been a key partner working with the Scottish Government to develop Scotland's response to the UN Decade of Education for Sustainable Development Education (2005-2014).
On the 1st January 2005 the United Nations launched the Decade of Education for Sustainable Development (DESD), to promote education as a basis for moving towards a sustainable society and to integrate sustainable development into education at all levels and in all areas of life. In response to this the Scottish Government has produced two Action Plans; the first covering 2006 to 2010 and the second covering 2010 to 2014.
WWF Scotland has been a key partner, working with the Scottish Government, the Sustainable Development Commission and others, in the writing of both these Action Plans. WWF Scotland continues to work with the Scottish Government as members of Advisory Groups and Steering Groups working to implement the actions contained within these Action Plans.
